Class Updates Week 3 & Kids Say the Darndest Things...

Sue will join the Parent Tot class on Monday, September 26 for circle time and she can't wait!
Sue will make this a regular monthly happening!

The RTG kids made beautiful apple tree art using paper, glue, paint and Q-tips!!
They look fantastic hanging in the room!

The 3's have now dabbled in glue, tempera paint, water colors and chalk in addition to working with markers, crayons, stickers and scissors.

The art table is a busy place!
Next week they will start paper mache apples!

The 3pm class as well as the 4's have started learning Spanish!

We are starting with numbers, colors and body parts and the Spanish is woven into the day.
In just a few weeks they will be able to teach YOU!

The Morning KE class created a beautiful  bulletin board they call Into The Woods.
The Afternoon KE class walked to the Wilmette Fire Station where they had the grand tour and left with fire hats!

And that is only a slice of our wonderful week!!!

This week I ask you... are these kids really just 3 and 4??!!!

Christopher J. walked into Lunch Bunch on Monday and announced...
"If you don't have a dessert don't worry... I baked chocolate chip cookies yesterday!"

Benjamin S. was sitting next to Christopher and slowly picking at his lunch.

With most of his lunch still left he asked...
"Christopher, can I have a cookie?"

Christopher looked at the food still in front of Benjamin and said...
"After you take 3 more bites."

Benjamin complied and then said...
"There!  I did it!  Can I have a bite now?"

Christopher looked up and said with a smile...
"Just one more big bite, Benjamin!!"

Jenna C.and Alec F. were sitting together at the table and chatting as they played together.

Suddenly, Jenna sneezed, and in her adorable voice said,
 "Alec... what do you say?"

Alec looked up and said...
"Huh?  What are you talking about?"

Jenna replied...
"I sneezed Alec, you should say bless you."

TCNS e-News Week 3

Hi Everyone!!

What a GREAT time we are having here at TCNS!

Your children are a JOY to be with!

That's because our parents are a JOY to be with!

I am especially touched by the 4PM class... the Thoem family just drove across the country to their new home in Wilmette,  when Mom Jenifer broke her leg.

The 4PM class immediately organized rides for Ethan and meals.  Jenifer was overwhelmed with gratitude.

TCNS families are the BEST!
That is why your children are the BEST!
They learn first hand about compassion, kindness, and generosity!

As Terri Bielinski, 4pm Room Parent put it...

"When you're at Trinity you are never alone!"

Now... for the news.....

Classroom Happenings……

For all you parents that WISH you could be a fly on the wall…

Here is one piece of news from each class –enjoy!

Parent Tot had their first class this week and we have 12 very excited kids!

The RTG kids are exploring the room and learning the routine.

Ask your child what they do when their name is mentioned in the song:

"Hey, Hey… What Do You Say??"
They LOVE it!

The  3AM class is having an early lesson in compassion.

They made get well cards and decorated an autograph apple for their friend, Sam, who broke his arm.

Ask your 3PM child what happened to the letters in the classic book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and stop in to see the art that the story inspired!

The 4AM & PM classes are learning the song Getting To Know You while they enjoy reuniting with old friends and meeting new ones!

Our Morning KE LOVED the recent book they read that was filled with fun facts!

The book led to a discussion of everyone’s special talents.

Ask YOUR child what their special talent is!

The Afternoon KE received their journals this week!

They decorated the cover and made their first entry.

Kids Say the Darndest Things……
We were celebrating Sam’s birthday in Ready Two Grow this week.  Not to be left out, Brock B. declared:

“I am 2 and 3 quarters!!”

Miss Byrd was playing restaurant in the 3 year old morning class.  Christopher J., using his best grown up voice, said:

"I’d like to order some roast beef, please..."

Then just for a moment, Christopher stepped out of character and confessed to Miss Byrd:

"I’m just ordering roast beef to be grown up. In real life I don’t like roast beef!"

The 3’s were singing the goodbye song and Miss Byrd told the children she would not see them again until 2 sleeps.

Just then a light bulb went off in Grace L’s head and she said:

"I could come over for a sleepover!”

The Church Kindergarten class just completed reading a great book filled with fascinating facts about animals and all that makes each one special!

Mrs. Dashiell asked the class what makes them special?

Ben R. thought for a while and said:

”I could fit so many goldfish in my mouth at one time… you wouldn’t believe it!!!”

A special treat for the kids in the Afternoon KE class is to select go through the alphabet and everyone in the class agrees on topics to study that begin with the letters.

The class was stuck on the letter ‘G’.

Tatum M. had a great idea:

”We could study my sister Greer!”

Birthday Celebration Bakeries

Wondering what to bring to celebrate your little ones' birthday at Trinity?

I found two amazing bakeries in Evanston that have yummy treats that are safe for all food allergies your class may have.

2901 Central Street
Evanston, IL

They have a case full of egg free and vegan items (cupcakes & cookies) that are delicious and safe for all our students to eat with out worry.

Give them a days notice and they will whip up the perfect order for you.

Several TCNS mom's have raved about this bakery and said their baked goods are delicious.

Blind Faith Cafe's menu boasts over 12 different vegan baked goods!

If you have any other places of mention please share!
