Hi Everyone!
We cannot believe how quickly this year is flying by!
Your precious children are moving faster, making more noise, and generally having LOTS of fun!
We recently had a TON of fun with a very L A R GE topic – DINOSAURS!
Your precious children are moving faster, making more noise, and generally having LOTS of fun!
We recently had a TON of fun with a very L A R GE topic – DINOSAURS!
You saw the cute baby dino that comes out of an egg, but there was a lot you didn’t get to see!
You didn’t see the pictograph and tally charts we made to answer the question,
“What Is Your Favorite Dinosaur?”
You didn’t see the volcanoes we created by combining vinegar with baking soda!
Each child had their own volcano and watched and listened to the chemical reaction.
And..... you didn’t get to see the kids digging for dinosaurs in the large sandbox outside on our Dino Dig Day!
Plus, while we had all this fun, we learned a lot about dinosaurs!
Ask your child the following:
1. What does
extinct mean?
2. What does a
paleontologist study?
3. What are
fossils?
4. What does
an herbivore eat?
5. What does a
carnivore eat?
6. What are
the teeth like of an herbivore?
7. What are
the teeth like of a carnivore?
8. What comes
out of a volcano?
9. What was
the earth like in the time of the dinosaurs?
Plus, we read lots of books on dinosaurs and determined if they
were fact or fiction!
That should be enough to start an interesting discussion!
Starting Monday we will learn about plants!
